Why I Built This Website

Knowledge into action - Why I built this website

This website has information about color, light related therapies, and lighting design.  I have created www.ChromaTherapyLight.com to encourage learning and discovery about light and its impact on our lives. 
As a professional member of the Illuminating Engineering Society, I built this website to promote the art and science of quality lighting to the public.  ‘The IES seeks to improve the lighted environment by bringing together those with lighting knowledge and by translating that knowledge into actions that benefit the public.’  www.IES.org

This site provides a bridge between the lighting research, lighting design community, and the public.  It is a place where visitors can learn about lighting design, color, circadian systems, and light pollution. This education website is where I teach the art and science of illumination, lighting design basics, share what I learn, and explore current research.  

Each topic page has footnotes, citing scientific articles from many resources including: The Lighting Research Center (LRC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the International Dark-Sky Association (IDA), California Lighting Technology Center, UC Davis (CLTC), and the Illuminating Engineering Society's (IES) Recommended Practice (RP) series of publications.
